Dániel Kovács (HU)

Biography

I have been practicing Contact Improvisation since 2016, starting my studies in the classes of Grégory Chevalier. Other teachers who have influenced me profoundly are Urs Stauffer, Kirstie Simson, Nita Little, and Stéphanie Auberville. Somatic movement is an essential part of my practice as a dancer, more the methods specifically Feldenkrais,

Body-Mind Centering, Skinner Releasing Technique, and Material for the Spine. I am currently enrolled in „Somatic Dialogues,” a 500-hour training for somatic movement educators, where I am learning from Eszter Gál, Ferenc Kálmán, and Ági Gyulavári. I’ve been teaching CI regularly since 2022. I am also invested in the practice of instant composition and improvised performance which I studied with Robie Legros and Julyen Hamilton. I’ve recently started offering a series of workshops called „The Weight of Poetry,” where participants learn tools for making improvised dance pieces and have the opportunity to perform their work at the end of each series.
